1. Water can seep into the cavities of cement blocks, which
comprises your foundation. Drain holes are drilled into the
bottom of these cavities and block joints to permit this water to
flow out to the wet shield.
2. The wet shield is made of PVC and has a flexible hinge to
adapt to the contours at the job site. It controls water soaking in
around the foundation, thereby relieving hydrostatic pressure.
3. CNC Restoration uses rigid 4” perforated drain tile for fast,
clog-free drainage.
4. Washed rock (3/4” diameter) is placed around and beneath
the drain tile. The size is critical to its effectiveness as a drainage
medium and to ensure non-blockage of drain holes.
5. A plastic barrier prevents captured, draining water from
seeping upward where it could otherwise contact the newly
completed concrete floor.
6. Sump pumps installed by JC Masonry Inc. meet or exceed
state codes. Made of high quality materials, the basin is
constructed with a bolt steel cover for safety and controlled
access.
